TERMS OF SERVICE

Advocates.International LLP
 

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website located at www.Advocates.International (the "Site") and any related services, content, training programs, or communication tools provided by Advocates.International ("we," "us," "our").

By accessing or using this Site and/or engaging with our services, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not use this Site or any services offered through it.

1. Nature of Services

Advocates.International is not a law firm and does not provide full legal representation. We provide:

  • Limited Legal services and non-lawyer advice


  • Training and certification programs for aspiring legal professionals
     
  • Non-lawyer advocacy services and client assistance
     
  • Referral and research support
     
  • Public profiles and promotion of certified Associate Advocate members
     

All services are intended for educational, administrative, and advocacy purposes only, and must not be construed as professional legal advice or representation.

2. Eligibility and User Obligations

You may use our services only if you:

  • Are at least 18 years of age
     
  • Are capable of entering into a binding legal agreement
     
  • Use our services in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
     

You agree not to:

  • Misrepresent your qualifications or affiliation with Advocates.International
     
  • Use the Site to engage in or promote any unlawful activity
     
  • Collect or harvest information from other users without their consent
     

3. Non-Lawyer Certification & Membership

Advocates.International offers a paid certification course for individuals wishing to become Certified Associate Advocates. Certification does not authorize the practice of law, and members must clearly represent themselves as non-lawyer advocates.

Upon completion of the training course and payment of the applicable annual membership fee, Certified Associate Advocates may:

  • Be listed in our public directory
     
  • Receive non-exclusive opportunities for advocacy-based assistance work
     
  • Use the designation "Certified Associate Advocate (Advocates.International)"
     

We reserve the right to suspend or revoke certifications or memberships at our sole discretion for any violation of these Terms or misrepresentation of authority.

4. Client Service Disclaimer

Users who engage with Advocates.International for support understand and agree:

  • We do not guarantee legal outcomes or success in any legal matter
     
  • If your matter requires legal representation, we may refer you to a licensed attorney or firm; this referral does not establish an attorney-client relationship with Advocates.International
     
  • You are responsible for vetting and engaging any third-party legal professionals we refer
     

By using our services, you agree to hold Advocates.International harmless from any legal, financial, or personal damages resulting from reliance on our information, support, or referrals.

5. Fees and Payments

All fees for certification training and membership are clearly listed and must be paid in full prior to access or renewal. All payments are final and non-refundable unless otherwise stated in writing.

  • Training Course: $100 one-time fee
     
  • Annual Membership: $100/year
    We reserve the right to change fees or pricing at any time, with notice.
     

6. Intellectual Property

All content, materials, branding, and training resources on this Site are the property of Advocates.International and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not use, reproduce, or distribute any of our materials without prior written consent.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Advocates.International shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the Site or services.

This includes but is not limited to:

  • Loss of income, business opportunities, or employment
     
  • Misunderstanding of our scope or capacity as a non-law firm
     
  • Referrals to or dealings with third-party professionals
     

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site or services at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or the reputation of Advocates.International.

9. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of [Insert Province] and the laws of Canada, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of [Insert Province].

10. Modifications to Terms

At Advocates.International, we are a Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) comprised of independent Partners united under one professional and ethical standard. As a condition of engagement and ongoing affiliation, no client or user may engage any Partner of Advocates.International in a matter that involves, targets, or is in conflict with another Partner or the firm itself.

This internal conflict prohibition is absolute. Despite our LLP structure, Advocates.International operates as a unified agency, and we do not act against our own firm, Partners, or affiliates under any circumstances. Any attempt to circumvent this policy may result in immediate termination of services and forfeiture of any applicable agreements or retainers.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in respecting the integrity of our network.

Advocates.International International Legal Services Ordinance, 2025

Ordinance Title:
The Global Authorization and Membership Ordinance for Legal and Advocacy Services

Enacted by:

Preamble

WHEREAS the evolution of global access to justice and cross-border legal assistance demands a unified and non-restrictive approach to legal and non-legal advocacy;

AND WHEREAS Advocates.International was founded to enable individuals worldwide to provide advocacy, legal support, and justice-related services without the constraint of national jurisdictional barriers;

NOW THEREFORE, this Ordinance is enacted to authorize, regulate, and support the practice of both lawyer and non-lawyer advocacy services internationally under the auspices of Advocates.International.

Part I – Global Authorization

Section 1: Definitions

  • Advocates.International – A global, non-governmental body overseeing the credentialing, regulation, and recognition of both lawyer and non-lawyer advocates.
     
  • Advocate – Any individual licensed by Advocates.International to practice under this Ordinance.
     
  • Non-lawyer advocacy services – Services such as mediation, legal consultation, document drafting, international compliance support, and advocacy in non-court forums.
     
  • Lawyer advocacy services – Services rendered by qualified legal professionals including legal representation, consultation, and jurisdiction-specific services in accordance with national legal standards.
     
  • Member – Any individual registered with Advocates.International who has paid the required annual membership fee.
     
  • Partner Licence – The designation awarded to individuals certified as full advocates under Advocates.International’s licensing standards.
     

Section 2: Jurisdictional Recognition and Scope

  1. Full Global Authorization:
    Advocates.International and its certified members are hereby authorized to practice both lawyer and non-lawyer advocacy services globally, notwithstanding jurisdictional restrictions, where local laws do not expressly prohibit such services.
     
  2. Cross-Border Operations:
    This Ordinance affirms the right of members to operate in multiple jurisdictions, subject to:
     
    • Compliance with local unauthorized practice of law (UPL) laws.
       
    • Declaration that membership is not equivalent to national bar admission.
       

Part II – Membership Provisions

Section 3: Eligibility and Registration

  1. Open Membership:
    Paralegals, lawyers, and independent advocates may apply for membership with Advocates.International regardless of their firm, jurisdiction, or affiliation.
     
  2. Course Fee Waiver:
    Applicants who are currently certified lawyers or paralegals may waive the course/training fee, but are required to pay the annual membership fee to be considered active.
     
  3. Voluntary Participation Notice:
    All lawyers and paralegals acknowledge that:
     
    • Their affiliation with Advocates.International is entirely voluntary;
       
    • Participation is at their own professional risk;
       
    • Their existing licensure is unaffected by their membership status with Advocates.International.
       

Section 4: Member Listings and Anonymity Options

  1. Only paid members are eligible for public listing on the Advocates.International website.
     
  2. Members may choose to appear:
     
    • With first name, full name, or anonymously.
       

  1. All listed members shall be identified by a unique serial, registration, or license number issued upon activation.
     

Part III – Licensing and Recognition

Section 5: Issuance of Partner Licence

This document certifies the following:

The individual named herein, having met all the qualifications and requirements set out in the Advocates.International by-laws made thereunder for the issuance of a Partner licence, is therefore entitled to practice as an Advocate for the period of one (1) year from the date of issuance, subject to renewal thereafter.
 

This license affirms recognition to practice both lawyer and non-lawyer advocacy services globally under the jurisdiction of Advocates.International, in line with international norms and subject to any national limitations expressly stated in law.

Section 6: Term and Renewal

  1. The Partner Licence is valid for one (1) calendar year.
     
  2. Renewal is available upon:
     
    • Confirmation of continued good standing;
       
    • Payment of annual dues;
       
    • Completion of any required continuing education (if applicable).
       

Part IV – Final Provisions

  1. Supersession Clause:
    This Ordinance takes precedence over any conflicting policy previously issued by Advocates.International.
     
  2. Governing Body:
    All matters arising under this Ordinance shall be governed by the Governing Council of Advocates.International, whose decisions shall be final unless otherwise challenged through an appeal under the organization's charter.
     
  3. Amendments:
    This Ordinance may be amended by a supermajority vote of the Governing Council with 30 days’ notice to all active members.
